The Defence Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) announced that the US State Department has decided to sell $241 million worth of Patriot PAC-3s to the Dutch Government. The Netherlands wants to buy 34 related missiles and equipment, repair and logistical support elements will be included in the agreement.
“This proposed sale will support the foreign policy and national security of the United States by helping to improve security of a NATO ally which is an important force for political stability and economic progress in Northern Europe,” the DSCA notice says.
The missile system, which can be deployed 30 kilometres from the command centre, has a warhead design to slam and destroy its target.
