JSC Zavod Mayak, part of Ukroboronprom, periodically tested its KT-7.62 machine guns, which it developed with local sources. “For the first time in Ukraine, a machine gun from this family successfully completed 25,000 shots, confirming its characteristics with a periodic test,” the firm said of the tests.  The machine gun, which fired 25,000 shots over 10 days, completed its capability. The machine gun also passed a climate test for 15 days. 1,285 representatives of the Military Mission of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence approved the results of the periodic test, on September 22.

In the near future, the factory plans to develop a new version of the KT-7.62 machine guns with 7.62×51 NATO ammunition.
