KBR’s Mission Technology Solutions unit is preparing to spin off from the company in January 2027 to become an independent firm under the name Trinzic. On the threshold of this transition, the unit has been awarded a task order valued at an estimated $208 million over five years under a US Army munitions contract. The task order covers support for the Tactical Aviation and Ground Munitions (TAGM) portfolio.
The agreement was announced on 10 August 2026 by Houston-based KBR. Awarded as a cost-plus-fixed-fee task order under the US government’s One Acquisition Solution for Integrated Services Plus (OASIS+) contracting vehicle, the order extends the company’s current role in the TAGM programme by an additional five years.
Which Systems are Covered Under the US Army Munitions Contract
The task order covers HELLFIRE, Joint Air-to-Ground Missile (JAGM), Javelin, Tube-launched Optically-tracked Wireless-guided (TOW) missiles, Hydra rockets, and Long-Range Precision Munitions (LRPM) systems. Advanced rocket systems and containerised weapon platforms are also included in the scope of work. Under the US Army munitions contract, activities will include advanced engineering, rapid prototyping, modernisation, foreign military sales (FMS), and global logistics operations.
Jay Lennon, President of Mission Technology Solutions, said in a statement that the company has helped the Army take its most critical precision-guided weapons from concept to combat readiness for over 25 years, shortening development timelines and accelerating fielding in the process.
The task order also supports the Army’s modernisation efforts in multi-domain operations, aviation strike capabilities, Launched Effects, and low-cost counter-unmanned aircraft systems (C-UAS).
Trinzic Prepares for Spin-Off
KBR’s Mission Technology Solutions unit will become an independent, publicly traded company under the name Trinzic in January 2027. The new company will enter the market with annual revenue exceeding $5 billion, 18,000 employees, and a global operational network. The name is derived from the word “intrinsic.”
The task order represents one of the largest-budget contracts Trinzic has taken on even before its official establishment.
