The MPT-76 MH, the only infantry rifle in the world to have successfully passed 58 different rigorous tests, has now taken its place in the Türkiye’s Armed Forces inventory with its lightweight body and enhanced ergonomics. Manufactured by Machinery and Chemical Industry (MKE) at the Kırıkkale Weapons Factory, these next-generation rifles offer a 500-gram weight advantage, directly improving the mobility of Turkish soldiers on the operational field.
Designed by Turkish engineers with the needs of the Turkish soldier in mind, the MPT-76 MH weighs in at 3,750 grams—approximately 500 grams lighter than the standard MPT-76 model. This reduction in weight helps alleviate fatigue during prolonged operations and enhances manoeuvrability in the field.

MPT-76 MH: Technical Specifications and Performance
Produced by MKE, this next-generation infantry rifle not only lightens the load on the soldier in operational theatres but also stands out with an effective range of 600 metres and a cyclic rate of fire of 750 rounds per minute.
The rifle’s success has been validated through a series of demanding test procedures. It has passed a total of 58 different tests—42 of which are NATO standards and 16 domestic—proving its reliability and durability under operational conditions.
The MKE MPT-76 MH is now being adopted not only by the Turkish Armed Forces but also by the militaries of friendly and allied nations, drawing attention with its strong export potential. Thanks to its reliability and ergonomic design, the system stands out among modern infantry rifles and plays a strategic role in Türkiye’s defence industry exports.
MKE’s Production and Export Activities
MKE continues to modernise its production lines with cutting-edge technologies as part of a $1.5 billion investment drive. The institution is also exporting indigenous systems such as the Boran howitzer, while continuing to meet the ammunition needs of the Turkish Armed Forces through various ammunition delivery projects. The MPT-76 MH delivery is a clear demonstration of MKE’s capability in small arms production and stands as the latest example of its ongoing support for the modernisation of the TSK inventory.
