The Iranian naval forces for the first time test-fired indigenously-developed long-range Qadir cruise missile during the wargames underway in the Sea of Oman on Tuesday. Qadir is a new generation cruise missile with a range of 300 km, reportedly featuring quick reaction capability, the ability to fly at low altitude, great precision and high destructive power. First unveiled in August 2014, The mass production of the long-range missile was launched by the Iranian Defense Ministry's Aerospace Industries Organization in 2015.
On the second day of the military exercise, codenamed Muhammad Rasulullah-5, the country also successfully fired a ‘Nasr’ cruise missile.
