Although military staff and analysts of Turkish and Greek armies have been constantly evaluating the balance of power, the issue drew public attention following a program in Greece’s Blue Sky TV. Against the background of this and similar news, lies the requirement to obtain resources for Greek Army’s modernisation. Put simply, Greece chants the slogan of “Turks are Coming”, in order to garner financial support from the people.

Appearing in the Blue Sky TV channel, journalist and defence analyst Ioannis Theodoratos first showered Turkish weapons with praise. Then he laid the cat out of the bag: “Fellow Greek Cypriots should immediately put hands into their pockets.”
