MKE’s Denizhan-76 naval gun can fire 80 rounds a minute and offers an effective range of up to roughly 16 kilometres. The system is one of four naval technologies MKE will showcase at TEKNOFEST Mavi Vatan, set to take place at the Gölcük Naval Shipyard Command between 20-23 August.
Also on display at the fair will be a smart bottom mine, a kamikaze unmanned surface vessel and an electronic countermeasure munition.
Denizhan-76 Delivers Multi-Role Firepower at Close Range
Developed by MKE and set to be unveiled at TEKNOFEST Mavi Vatan, the Denizhan-76 naval gun is capable of carrying out air defence, surface warfare and shore bombardment missions. The system offers an effective firing range of up to roughly 16 kilometres while reaching a rate of fire of 80 rounds per minute. MKE says the number of countries worldwide capable of producing this type of naval gun is limited. This production capacity has also been increased in recent months as part of the company’s $1.5 billion investment programme.
MALAMAN Smart Bottom Mine Uses Multiple Sensors to Detect Targets
Already in service with the Naval Forces Command and set to be exhibited at TEKNOFEST Mavi Vatan, the MALAMAN smart bottom mine can detect targets at long range and at varying depths using acoustic, magnetic and pressure sensors. Designed to match the seabed terrain, the system can be deployed from ships, submarines and aircraft, including unmanned platforms. MALAMAN weighs approximately 600 kilograms in total, of which 400 kilograms consists of insensitive underwater explosive. The system can continue operating safely despite overheating or bullet impacts.
PİRANA Ready for TEKNOFEST Mavi Vatan
Capable of speeds exceeding 40 knots, the PİRANA unmanned surface vessel can carry a 100-kilogram warhead over a range of more than 200 nautical miles. Built for high manoeuvrability in scenarios requiring rapid response, the system can also strike targets as part of a swarm concept. Visitors to TEKNOFEST Mavi Vatan will be able to see PİRANA’s swarm manoeuvring capability first-hand.
BALKIN 130mm ÇAF-S Provides Electronic Decoy Protection Against Missiles
Developed to strengthen the defensive capabilities of surface platforms, the MKE BALKIN 130mm ÇAF-S munition offers an effective countermeasure against radio-frequency-seeking guided missiles. Providing wideband electromagnetic protection and high radar reflectivity, the munition delivers an effective decoy capability. This electronic countermeasure system will also be on display at TEKNOFEST Mavi Vatan alongside MKE’s other naval systems.
All four MKE systems will be exhibited at the Gölcük Naval Shipyard Command as part of TEKNOFEST Mavi Vatan between 20-23 August. Ahead of the fair, the company’s ammunition deliveries to the Turkish Armed Forces had also picked up pace over the past month.
