The AASM Hammer (Armement Air‑Sol Modulaire) is a modular solution that converts standard bombs into precision‑guided munitions. With a range exceeding 70 kilometres, the system is capable of accurately striking targets on complex battlefields.
Franck Saudo, Head of Safran Electronics & Defense, emphasised that data from the conflicts in Ukraine have confirmed the operational advantage provided by the AASM Hammer under difficult conditions. For example, this applies when GPS signals are jammed. Thanks to its advanced guidance and propulsion kits, the munition maintains target accuracy even in environments with heavy signal jamming. Furthermore, the system works with 250 kg, 500 kg and 1,000 kg bomb classes. It has also delivered successful results against both stationary and moving targets.

Growing International Interest
Officials from the French Defence Ministry have highlighted that the system’s ability to conduct simultaneous air‑to‑ground strikes provides a significant operational advantage in air campaigns.
The system’s success is also reflected in export figures. Alongside Ukraine, countries such as India, Croatia, Egypt and Norway stand out as nations that have either added the AASM Hammer to their inventories or placed orders. In addition, Norway’s order, worth €371 million, has confirmed the system’s strategic weight in the global defence market.
