Rolls-Royce is to supply engines for six SAR 1906 search and rescue boats which are going to be constructed at Damen Shipbuilding company located in Antalya, Turkey. According to Rolls-Royce press release on 24 January, the boats will feature MTU 8V 2000 M84L engines. Designed to straighten up of its own accord when capsized, the first SAR 1906 boat will be delivered to Turkish Coast Guard Command in May this year.
