Portable Antitank Radar Enters Service

Russia’s SNAR-10 M1 self-propelled radar, capable of detecting tanks at a distance of up to 40 km, enters service at the Central Military District under a state defence order. 

SNAR-10 M1 radar is designed for reconnaissance of moving ground, air and surface targets. The modern radar can detect vehicles, manpower, exploding shells at a range of 200m – 40km. 

 

The station is equipped with an internal and external communication system with automated data transmission, and satellite navigation. Autonomous operation of the complex is at least three days. The crew is four people strong. The radar can be deployed into combat position in max 5.5 minutes.
