A new era of “impassability” is beginning along Poland’s borders. The Warsaw government has officially signed a massive 3.4 billion zloty (approximately $850 million) deal for domestically produced scatterable mine systems. These mine systems are capable of stopping enemy armored units in seconds. Tens of thousands of MN-123 munitions, to be manufactured by BELMA S.A., will take the Polish army’s anti-tank capability to a new technological level. Furthermore, this is due to digital recording capabilities and integration with the BAOBAB-K platform.
Uninterrupted Deliveries Until 2029
This massive project, carried out by the Bydgoszcz Electromechanical Works (BELMA S.A.), follows a delivery schedule covering the years 2027–2029. The deal, with a gross value of approximately $850 million, takes the Polish Armed Forces’ “rapid obstacle creation” capability to the next level.
Technical Details: MN-123 and Digital Integration
The scatterable mine containers to be supplied under the contract will be actively used in the following systems:
- BAOBAB-K: Modern Mine Laying Vehicle (PMN)
- TMN: Mine carriers on tracked chassis
- Kroton: Existing systems currently in inventory
The MN-123 anti-tank mines to be used not only have the capacity to effectively destroy enemy vehicles but also offer high automation and the ability to keep digital records of minefields thanks to their modern system architecture.

Financing and Strategic Vision
Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz stated at the signing ceremony that this project proves Poland’s domestic production strength to the world. Referring to the financing model, Kamysz indicated that credit lines under the European Union’s SAFE program and, if necessary, resources from the National Bank of Poland would be used for such strategic security investments.
This supply move has gone down as one of the largest ammunition items reinforcing Poland’s deterrence activities. In particular, it strengthens its position along its eastern border.
