Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) is to add a new member to its Wing Loong family of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), state news agencies reported on 25 January.
The reconnaissance-strike UAV Wing Loong I-D is planned to make its maiden flight in 2018 and will be available for international customers. The medium-altitude long-endurance (MALE) UAV will be a direct improvement of the Wing Loong I and feature increased flight ceiling, endurance internal and external payload along with a higher-output engine.
