Latvia has signed a contract worth €108 million with Israel on 12 February regarding the purchase of Spike anti-tank missiles. Latvian Ministry of Defence said the newly acquired Spike missile systems, which would complement the existing stockpile of this armament, would significantly enhance combat capability of the National Armed Forces regular units and the National Guard.
Spike anti-tank missile systems will be also installed on combat vehicle reconnaissance (Tracked) or CVR(T) units, according to the ministry statement. The systems will gradually be inducted into Latvian forces by 2023.
