L3Harris Technologies has announced the start of high-volume production of its VAMPIRE™ counter-unmanned systems (C-UxS) in Huntsville, Alabama. This new L3Harris VAMPIRE production line is a direct response to the growing need of the United States and its allies. They must counter the persistent drone threat that poses risks to military personnel and infrastructure.
The facility features a flexible assembly, testing, and installation area. This setup enables the integration of VAMPIRE systems onto ground vehicles and container-type weapon systems. Importantly, L3Harris VAMPIRE systems are known for their adaptable integration capability. Additionally, the production line has been designed to scale its capacity based on demand.
L3Harris official Tom Kirkland stated: “We are doing everything we can to save lives by delivering these effective and field-proven systems to the front lines as quickly as possible. Our new production line brings together the best people, technology, facilities, and innovation to provide our customers with the highest level of counter-unmanned system solutions.” Furthermore, L3Harris VAMPIRE solutions are playing an increasing role in modern warfare strategies.
