Ballistic missile threat is increasing day by day. States continue to work on technological measures against these elements.

Lockheed Martin signed an agreement with BAE Systems for the development of a new generation infrared scanner. The company will design advanced targeting systems for Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (Terminal High Altitude Area Defense / THAAD) air defence systems under the contract. The work to be carried out for the new sensor will increase the efficiency of THAADs and contribute to the manufacturing process.

THAAD can destroy the hostile ballistic missile systems in the final or terminal phase. The system allows targets to be destroyed in outer atmospheric environments.
