The Greek Cyprus-France-Greece air and navy exercise, will take place at the west of Cyprus from tomorrow, August 26th, until Friday, August 28th. According to Greek Cypriot press the drill will be a response to Turkey in the eastern Mediterranean region. In the coming days, Paphos Air Base will become the operational centre of large-scale military activities, for the purpose of exercises.

Greek Cypriot press states that three French Rafale aircraft and 3 Greek F-16 aircraft will use the air base of Paphos from which they will make exits taking part in the scenarios of the exercise. It is alos stated that French fighters have already arrived in “Andreas Papandreou”, while two Greek F-16 fighters are expected. The exercise will be attended by French naval forces, including the frigate Lafayette, which is located for a long time in the wider area, as well as Greek warships.
