Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir, President of Defence Industries, hosted Kerem Mustafayev, Army Commander of Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic, and Ramiz Tahirov, Deputy Minister of Defence and Commander of the Air Force of Azerbaijan.
“Our defence industry is always at the disposal of Azerbaijan with all its experience, technology and capabilities, from our armed drones to our munitions and missiles, electronic warfare systems,” Prof. Dr. Demir said of the meeting, in which cooperation in the field of defence industry also came up.
Azerbaijan's Defence Minister announced plans to buy armed drones from Turkey in June.
Prof. Dr. Demir explained that work will be carried out to bring new armed systems to Azerbaijan, and said that work will be carried out on the modernization of existing systems, maintenance repair and training activities.
Last week, according to Azerbaijani media reports, the Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAS) has tested the Şimşek High Speed Target Drone System in Azerbaijan; A total of six flights were operated near Baku in three days.
