The US Navy commissioned its newest fast attack submarine USS Colorado (SSN 788), during a ceremony on 17 March at Connecticut’s Naval Submarine Base.
The platform is the 15th Virginia-class fast attack submarine and the fifth Virginia-class Block III submarine. The 114,8-metre long submarine has a displacement of 7 thousand 800 tons submerged and is the fourth Navy vessel commissioned with a name honouring the state of Colorado.
