Russian Deputy Defense Minister Yuri Borisov revealed that the entire fleet of Tupolev Tu-160 supersonic strategic missile-carrying bombers will be renewed by 2030. Borisov said the operational aircraft will undergo a heavy upgrade where only the fuselage will remain while all the onboard radio-electronic equipment and engines will be replaced.

The Minister added that a special coating will be applied on the aircraft which will reduce the visibility of the platforms and new weapons will be integrated. The efficiency of the new engines will increase by 10 percent, adding a thousand kilometres to its operational range.
