The Times reported that US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo's visit to Greece is about Souda Base. Speaking with a Greek defence analyst, the newspaper wrote that this visit was aimed at moving the US base in Incirlik to the Souda Bay on Crete.
According to The Times newspaper Athens correspondent Anthee Carassava, Pompeo will hold talks on moving Incirlik Base to Crete Island as part of the US efforts to increase its military presence in the Eastern Mediterranean.
The newspaper underlined that “This is Pompeo's second visit in two weeks”.
