Gürcan Okumuş, who is the TÜBİTAK SAGE (Savunma Sanayii Araştırma ve Geliştirme Enstitüsü / Defence Industries Research and Development Instute) Institute Director, was a guest on live stream at C4Defence's Instagram account. Okumuş made important statements about Göktuğ air-to-air missile family.

Okumuş stated that the ground launch test phase of the Peregrine and Merlin missiles has been completed and stated that the project will continue with the launch trial phase from the F-16 Fighting Falcon aircraft. While it was stated that unwanted partial delays were experienced due to COVID-19, it was announced that the missiles would be ready for mass production when the launch tests were completed in 2021. An agreement has not yet been signed with a company for serial production.
