Slovenia has selected Boxer for its 8×8 armoured vehicle requirement.

Slovenia’s Ministry of Defence said in a press release on 2 February that the deal for future procurement of Boxer 8×8 armoured wheeled platform for a new Central Battalion Battle Group to be signed in later in the year. The MoD also announced that it will submit a written proposal to OCCAR this month to pursue participating state status within the programme. Slovenia has allocated funding for the procurement in 2018 and 2019, with the acquisition of an 8×8 platform included in both the country’s medium- and long-term defence planning programmes. 

By procuring the vehicles through OCCAR, Slovenia would be joining Germany, Lithuania, and the Netherlands in the Boxer programme as a participating state.
