Russia is working on development of advanced hypersonic weapons, according to the Russian Deputy Defence Minister Yuri Borisov’s statement made on 19 January. According to Borisov, the country is at the stage of a new scientific and technical revolution and principally new armament systems based on physical principles never used before in this field. He said that the hypersonic weapons requires the the use of new materials and control systems that are able to operate in a cloud of plasma.
