Sig Sauer announced that M9 handguns, which are currently in service with the US Land Forces, will be replaced by P320 pistols. P320 has polimer frame unlike M9 pistols the land forces put into use during cold war period. The pistols can be equipped with a silencer if needed and the capacity of the magazines can be increased. The number of the pistols to be deliverd was not disclosed, however the contract value is revealed as 580 million 217 thousand Dollars.
