RENK received a €30 million follow-on order from Patria for TRACKX transmissions. The order follows Finland and Sweden’s initial TRACKX procurements. This marks an important step toward serial production of the vehicle.
The order covers the supply of HSWL 076 transmissions used in the TRACKX vehicle family. Earlier this year, Patria placed an order with RENK Group AG for the first pre-series batch of transmissions. Deliveries under the new and more comprehensive order are scheduled to begin in 2027.
Michael Masur, CEO of RENK Group Vehicle Mobility Solutions (VMS), said that Finland and Sweden’s procurements of TRACKX vehicles represent an important step toward serial production. In addition, Masur noted that RENK has been involved in the development, testing and pre-series production of the vehicle family. He added that cooperation with Patria will continue.
Remote and Autonomous Driving Infrastructure with HSWL 076
The HSWL 076 is a transmission system developed for light tracked vehicles weighing between 10 and 20 tonnes. The system combines steering, braking and propulsion functions within a single digital architecture. In addition, this architecture provides the basis for capabilities such as remote control, convoy operations and future autonomous functions. The system weighs approximately 700 kilograms. It stands out with its compact design and high power density.
RENK and Patria are also working together to use the system in both manned and unmanned ground vehicles. Patria’s modular TRACKX platform has been combined with RENK’s transmission and a drive-by-wire mobility architecture. Additionally, this architecture is suitable for tracked vehicle programmes. It can be used in programmes designed for manned, optionally unmanned and fully unmanned operations.
Finland and Sweden initiated their first procurements of TRACKX vehicles at the end of September. Vehicle deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2027.
