Aircrafts belonging to Russian Aerospace Forces carried out assault attempts in the Arctic Ocean. 11 aircraft participated in the training.

Russian Su-24 (NATO Code: Fencer) aircraft made simulation attack the Arctic radar stationed in Norway. This training, which was held in February 2018, did not have much media coverage. Aircrafts from Monchegorsk Airbase in Kola Peninsula of Russia flew through the Barents Sea and then attacked Vardø after putting attack formation with a 180-degree turn. Following the completion of the attack scenario, Su-24s returned without violating Norwegian airspace. Globus II named radars are monitoring Russian air and space mobility.
