New Zealand continues to acquire special-purpose systems within the scope of army requirements, as well as the acquisition of new platforms, and replacing the vehicles that end of their economic life.

Wellington has announced that it has received the first batch of the Polaris MRZRs. As part of the package, the New Zealand Army added six of these vehicles to their inventory. The useability of the platforms, which will be subjected to a two-year test-trial period by the Army units will be examined. If the result is positive, Wellington will take action to procure new platforms.

Polaris MRZR, which has been procured to replace 4×4 ATV motorcycles without any armour protection, will be deployed within the 1st Battalion High Readiness Company. The platform, which is 3.59 meters long, 1.52 meters wide and 1.52 meters high, has 853 kilograms weight and can carry 680 kilograms payload. Vehicle is can transport siz personnel, including 1 driver.  Polaris MRZR propelled by 88 HP Prostar 900 diesel engine. The vehicle, which can reach a maximum speed of 96 km / h, has high off-road capability thanks to its advanced suspension system.
