The CAIG produced Z-18A transport helicopter has seen which is in the Chinese People's Liberation Army Ground Force (PLAGF) Aviation Units use.
According to the images published in China State Television, the platform is used by the PLAGF Aviation Unit. The helicopter was shown in the exercise held in the Uighur Autonomous Region in the western part of China.
The Z-18 helicopter is based on a three-engine commercial Avicopter AC313. Helicopter’s high-altitude tests were conducted in January 2015 on the Tibet Plateau. Powered by WZ6C turboshaft engines and the platform has glass cockpit, advanced avionics and ground radar. The platform, which has a maximum take-off weight of 13 tons, can carry 27 full-equipped troops with a range of 1000 kilometers.
