The U.S. Defence Security Cooperation Agency announced on Sept. 14 that its Principal Director for Security Assistance and State Secretary of Defence, for the Netherlands, have signed a Letter of Offer and Acceptance (LOA) for the modernization of 28 AH-64Ds to the E variant. Netherlands was cleared by the U.S. government to remanufacture these helicopters back in February. The package includes upgrading 51 T700-GE-701C engines to T700-GE-701D standard. The LOA is valued at more than $1 billion and includes the modernization of 28 AH-64D helicopters as well as the training of Dutch pilots at Ft. Hood, Texas.
