Netherlands to Procure Off-Road Vehicles

The Netherlands has announced procurement of off-road vehicles for military use. An agreement was signed with Mercedes-Benz.

Under the agreement, the Netherlands will procure 515 Mercedes-Benz G-class 300CDI vehicles. In the context of the 12kN AASLT procurement program, the Dutch Army will renew its off-road vehicles, which have been in use for twenty years. Deliveries will be completed between 2021 and 2023.

12kN AASLT vehicles can carry 1.2 tonnes of payload. Chinook helicopters can carry internally or externally these vehicles. Holland will take delivery up to 550 more by 2030. On the first delivery, vehicles will be delivered in combat (329 units), logistics (144) and casualty (42) variants. Combat vehicles will have anti-roll system.
