The US Navy plans to re-activate a base frequently used in the Cold War years in Alaska.

The deployment of P-8 Poseidon anti-submarine warfare aircraft to a small air base stationed in Alaska is on the agenda in order to observe the increasing Russian and Chinese activities in the Arctic Ocean.
