Boeing recently announced the sale of the new F / A-18 Super Hornet. The US Navy became the customer of Hornets.
The US Navy focused on the modernization of the fleet as the early F/A-18 Hornet series end of their the useful life and started to be retiring slowly. In this context, Boeing signed a procurement agreement for 78 F/A-18 E/F Block III Super Hornet platforms with US Navy. The cost of the deal was announced as $ 4 billion. The Block IIIs, which will be procured under a three-year agreement, have increased capabilities such as 4,000 hours longer life span than the Block II, longer range, improved network capability, reduced radar cross-sectional area and improved cockpit and communication systems.
