Spain will work with COHEMO for tower maintenance and repair of Leopard 2E (Leopard 2 A6E) platforms. Under the deal, worth about €6m, Spain-based firm COHEMO will work on the tower, such as firing direction, stabilisation system overhaul and repair.

Spain's domestic production rate in Leopard 2Es reached 60%, and the vehicles were installed locally under Santa Bárbara Sistemas in Seville. The platform is using a Spanish-designed tank command and control system.

COHEMO will maintenance of the military tank tower until 2021. The firm is running several projects for Spain’s Armed Forces, including the supply of spare parts for Leopard and thermal cameras for various armoured vehicles.

Leopard 2Es are expected to remain in service until 2025.
