Jet Tender at Black Sea

Ukraine, which is in a state of war with Russia, and therefore, has reconstructed its army by rebuilding, announced that it will go on a combat jet tender.

The Ukrainian Air Force Military Council decided to launch a new jet procurement process under the Air Force Vision 2035 Program. Within the scope of the decree signed on May 15, new platforms will be provided with the need to protection against enemy air raids, provide air defence in coordination with ground elements, and defend critical buildings and infrastructures. Currently, there are MiG-29, Su-27, Su-24M, Su-25 and Su-24MR aircraft in different branches, Ukraine aims to equip the air force with a single type combat jet. In this context, the requirement was determined as 72 to 108 aircraft.

It is planned to sign the agreement in 2021-2022 and to receive 6 to 12 aircraft in line with the urgent need in the first place. The final deliveries that will start in 2023 are planned to be completed in 2025. The total cost of the program is expected to be 7.5 billion USD.

In addition, Ukraine anticipates spending another 4.5 billion USD for the renewal of its transport aircraft inventory and utility helicopters and jet trainers.
