Israel carried out the new missile experiment with the US National Defence Agency. During trial, one Arrow-3 missile was launched.

Israel's stated that some modifications on Arrow-3 systems were tested. After target detection, it was reported that the missile did the target analysis as planned and successfully intercepted its target.

Arrow systems developed with the US constitute one of the main elements of Israel's missile defence umbrella. After the Gulf War, Israel has shown interest due to R-17 attacks during war. Arrow-3 can be effective at an altitude of 50.000 meters. Propelled by a solid propellant rocket engine, it has a 150-kilogram blast fragmentation warhead and can be effective at a range of 90 kilometres.
