The Budget Committee of the German Parliament approved the purchase of 38 new Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft for the country's air force. The new purchase, expected to be worth around €5.4m, is part of Germany's plan to buy 93 Eurofighter jets and 45 F-18s.
The 38 confirmed jets are expected to replace the former Eurofighters in the German fleet.
Decisions on the purchase of the remaining jets are scheduled to be approved after federal elections in Germany in 2021.
