Bayraktar TB2 armed UAV successfully completed its first test shot with the Common Aperture Targeting System (CATS) developed by Aselsan.
In the test carried out at Baykar Flight and Training Centre, TB2 was equipped with mini smart ammunition (MAM-L) developed by ROKETSAN. With the CATS electro-optical system, TB2 performed the shot. As part of the test flights, CATS' high-speed target locking and tracking capabilities were tested.
Mam-L, which has a laser seeker head fired from Bayraktar TB2, hit the target with full accuracy at high altitude and distance with laser marking made by CATS.
CATS was developed with local resources for fixed-wing or rotary wing air platforms.
