F/A-18 Time for LRASM

The F/A-18 Super Hornet process has started in LRASM, the latest anti-ship system in the US inventory. Lockheed Martin turned to the navy when it was recently announced that the system was operational on B-1B Lancer aircraft.

The qualification process required for the use of LRASM missiles on F/A-18 E/F aircraft will start in the first quarter of this year. Platforms will perform a series of flight and shotlaunch tests with live ammunition. In this process, F/A-18 E/F Super Hornet aircrafts will be qualified for landing on an aircraft carrier with the LRASM load. The experience process will be completed in the third quarter of 2019.

On January 15, the US Navy and Air Force signed a new contract with Lockheed Martin amounting to US $ 172 million. In this context, the company will start production of LRASM Lot 2. A total of 50 missiles will be delivered in the process of Lot 2.
