Gürcan Okumuş, who is the TÜBİTAK SAGE (Savunma Sanayii Araştırma ve Geliştirme Enstitüsü / Defence Industries Research and Development Instute) Institute Director, was a guest on live stream at C4Defence's Instagram account. Okumuş made important statements about domestic ramjet engine studies.
Indicating that the ramjet engine requires an advanced infrastructure, Okumuş announced that progress has been made in ramjet works. It was underlined that a ramjet-powered missile is not expected in the short term, while a Meteor-like system would be possible in a 10-year period. There are also plans for solid fuel ramjet, but in the first place, the process is progressing for the development of liquid fuel ramjet engine.
