Denmark is strengthening its coastal defence capabilities by increasing its procurement of NSM missiles. The contract signed with KONGSBERG, worth approximately NOK 400 million, covers the delivery of an undisclosed number of NSM missiles.
On 19 October 2026, KONGSBERG signed a contract to deliver additional Naval Strike Missile (NSM) missiles to Denmark. The sale is being carried out through a government-to-government (G2G) arrangement between the Norwegian and Danish defence procurement agencies, FMA and DALO.
The NSM coastal defence system, developed by KONGSBERG, consists of an advanced fire control system, NSM missiles and launch platforms. In 2025, Denmark procured the NSM coastal defence system, becoming the fifth NATO country to operate it, alongside Poland, the United States, Romania and Latvia. The country had also placed a separate order for NSM missiles for its frigates.
