Poland-based firm PZL Mielec, which works for Lockheed Martin, delivered five of the S-70i Black Hawk transport helicopters manufactured for the Philippines.
The Philippines, which ordered a total of 16 helicopters, signed a contract for the platforms in 2019 amounting to USD 240 million.
Poland's Defence Ministry announced that the sixth helicopter will be delivered by sea because only five helicopters can be transported on the Antonov An-124 transport aircraft. The sixth platform is expected to reach the Philippines next month.
The remaining 10 S-70i Black Hawks will be delivered in 2021.
