BAE Systems Bofors Marketing and Sales Director Stefan Löfström stated that the contract strengthens the long-standing cooperation with the Swedish Armed Forces and FMV, adding that the company will continue to support the Swedish Navy. Löfström noted that the agreement demonstrates Sweden’s confidence in the Bofors 57Mk3 naval gun and 3P ammunition for its naval defence.
Developed for air defence, surface warfare and naval gunfire support missions, the Bofors 57Mk3 is a multirole naval gun system. Together with programmable 57 mm 3P (Pre-fragmented, Programmable, Proximity-fuzed) ammunition, it can effectively engage a wide range of threats, including unmanned aerial vehicles, aircraft, missiles and surface targets.
