The Republic of Korea Navy (RoKN) has received a new training vessel on 29 December, which will bolster the service’s advanced training capabilities. The vessel was built by local shipbuilder Hanjin Heavy Industries which began construction in July 2015. The vessel has a length of 45 metres, an overall beam of 15 m, and a displacement of 230 tonnes.
The platform has a crew complement of 10 and will be used for anti-submarine warfare (ASW) exercises, anti-surface gunnery drills, and anti-air missile operations.
