Pakistan has successfully test-fired its Ababeel surface-to-surface ballistic missile for the first time on 24 January. According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) official statement, the test flight was aimed at validating various design and technical parameters of the weapon system. Ababeel missile is able to carry multiple nuclear warheads using the Multi Independent Re-entry Vehicle (MIRV) technology, and has the capability to engage multiple targets with high precision at a range of 2 thousand 200 kilometres.
