Russia will sign an export contract for VPK-Ural armoured vehicles with an unnamed Middle East country. Moscow-based VPK announced at the beginning of March that it had received the first order of the VPK-Ural platform.
Alexander Krasovitsky, the firm's General Manager, said the parties had spoken of contract parameters for the purchase. The vehicles were being tested in the unnamed Middle Eastern country, Krasovitsky said. VPK-Ural successfully completed daily tests in the desert at temperatures of up to 45 degrees Celsius.
At the end of the year, the first party vehicles are scheduled to be delivered to the receiving country.
First introduced at Army-2019, the 4×4-wheeler VPK-Ural weighs 14.5 tons. The platform, which can be transported by 12 fully equipped personnel, is powered by a 360 HP YaMZ-536 turbocharged diesel engine.
