Ukraine and Turkey have extended bilateral cooperation in the defence industry complex and are considering the prospects for cooperation in setting up joint ventures in the field of construction of land-based, aviation and Maritime platforms.

This was reported by the press service of the National Security and Defence Council  (NSDC) of Ukraine.

Ukrainian First Deputy Secretary of the NSDC Oleg Hladkovskiy met with President of the Defence Industry of Turkey Professor Ismail Demir at MUSIAD EXPO. Two parties noted a significant intensification of bilateral cooperation in the defence industry complex with the achievement of real results as mutually beneficial contracts. The officials also discussed the current state and prospects for cooperation in setting up joint ventures in the field of construction of land-based, aviation and maritime platforms, which are of considerable interest to both countries, the statement reads.

Hladkovskiy also held meetings with heads of Turkey's leading defence enterprises and noted the importance of combining the efforts of Ukrainian and Turkish design offices to modernize existing types of equipment and weapons and developing new ones.

The Ukrainian delegation also included Head of the UkrOboronProm State Concern Pavlo Bukin and Ukraine's Ambassador to Turkey Andriy Sibiga.
