The US has headed to the UK to increase the capabilities of T-6 Texan II aircraft. The UK-based company Cobham will modernize USA’s T-6 aircraft.

Within the scope of the modernization, aircraft’s ADS-B (Automatic, Dependent, Surveillance-Broadcast) capabilities will be increased. The company will integrate the RMS 555 Radio Management System into more than 500 aircraft. Studies will be carried out with the Scientific Research Corporation (SRC). Company’s solution avoids additional transponder control display units and a practical and compact product that does not require the necessary wiring.

ADS-B systems converts data obtained via GPS antennas from satellites into the ADS-B data. Platform adds data such as speed, direction, altitude, flight number, tail number to the data and shares it with other planes and related ground stations. In this way, the position of the aircraft can be monitored instantaneously and a possible abnormality can be detected.
