Meteksan Defence Company announced on the social media account that the Radar Cross-Sectional Measurement system, which is designed and developed for the Naval Forces Command, was delivered to the force. ALACA 35 GHz Radar Cross Section Measurement System was developed to increase the survivability of the platforms in inventory.
The contract for the design, development and production of “Millimetre Wave Radar Cross-Sectional Measurement System” with entirely local facilities was signed between the Naval Forces Research Centre Command (ARMERKOM) and Meteksan Defence Industry on July 13, 2018.
Delivery of the system to the Naval Forces Command was completed in December 2019.
ALACA will serve in the measures to be taken to defend the ships against possible attacks. With the measurement system, the radar cross-sectional area measurement of the Combat Platforms of the Naval Forces will be performed. The system will be used to protect from fire control radars that can be found in hostile platforms and guided-missile seeker radar. Thus, it will be used in testing measures to improve the millimetre wave radar cross-sectional areas of existing or newly designed platforms and in determining countermeasure decoy systems for deceiving and mixing guided missiles likely to target these platforms. The system will allow the creation of ISAR images of ships with its ISAR capability.
