STM Launches a New Era in Unmanned Systems with the “Multi-Domain” Concept

STM Multi-Domain Concept: Integrated Aerial, Naval, and Underwater Unmanned Systems with Heterogeneous Swarm Architecture.

STM, one of the pioneering companies of the Turkish defense industry, has implemented the “Multi-Domain” concept, which connects land, air, and naval platforms under a shared mission awareness. Developed under the guidance of the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB) of the Republic of Turkey, this vision aims to transform unmanned systems from standalone tools into an integrated and coordinated operational force.

An Integrated Ecosystem Blended with Field Experience

STM’s extensive product portfolio, proven in the field, forms the foundational building blocks of the Multi-Domain ecosystem. Within this integrated structure, the KARGU, ALPAGU, and KARGU FPV strike UAV systems provide destructive power for operations, while the TOGAN and STM-VTOL reconnaissance systems deliver continuous intelligence and surveillance from the air. The BOYGA and BOYGA-B munitions-delivery systems enhance tactical flexibility, and the inclusion of the STM NETA unmanned autonomous underwater vehicle extends operational capabilities beneath the sea. As a result, all these platforms come together under a shared command-and-control architecture, forming a mutually complementary whole.

Heterogeneous Swarm Architecture and Decision Superiority

At the heart of the concept lies a heterogeneous swarm architecture, enabling systems with different types and capabilities to operate in coordination under a single mission. Additionally, this architecture allows critical tasks—such as reconnaissance, suppression, area control, and infiltration—to be distributed across air, land, and naval elements.

STM’s software and systems engineering infrastructure allows platforms to operate independently of GNSS, perform missions even in electronic jamming environments, and dynamically distribute tasks within the swarm. The company demonstrated this capability in January 2026 by successfully hitting targets with live ammunition during a test involving a swarm of 20 KARGU drones, proving its expertise in this technology.

Future Goals in Autonomous Systems

STM plans to expand its autonomous unmanned systems product family with next-generation solutions in the coming period. Projects slated for addition to the inventory include:

  • Long-Range Kamikaze UAV
  • Mini Reconnaissance UAV
  • Anti-Radiation Kamikaze UAV
  • Counter-UAV Systems
  • Large Autonomous Underwater Vehicle

By incorporating these new products into the ecosystem, the Multi-Domain approach will evolve into a scalable, high-impact structure that provides decision superiority on the modern battlefield.
