Rostec has started delivering its new ‘Mnogotochiye’ ammunition to troops. The round splits into three parts after firing, leaving targets with no escape route. The technology is designed to change the drone threat on the battlefield. It works with standard infantry rifles, removing the need for soldiers to carry extra equipment just for drone defence.
The changing nature of modern conflicts has brought new risks from small drones. Rostec’s Vysokotochnye (High Precision) unit developed a solution that could change the rules of the game on the ground.
Three Part Design for High Accuracy
The ‘Mnogotochiye’ ammunition stands out with its three part special projectile design. After firing, the round separates into three pieces, creating a wide impact zone in the air. This structure significantly increases the chance of hitting fast moving drones.
The development team said the product has proven effective in the field and serial production is already underway. The first experimental batch of the ammunition, which completed extensive testing under the #NashKrash video project, has been delivered to units on active duty.
Plug and Play Solution for Infantry Rifles
Optimised for operational ease, the ‘Mnogotochiye’ is available in two calibre options, 5.45 mm and 7.62 mm. This means soldiers can defend against drones using their existing rifles, without needing smoothbore shotguns or other specialist weapons.
